The news of the league’s return has brought different responses from players. Recently, Kyrie Irving was in the limelight for being against NFL’s comeback in Orlando amidst the pandemic and BLM protests. Reportedly, during the team call, Kyrie enthused about players forming their own league. But as it turns out, fake news has been circulating about the Nets star from the past 24 hours.
New York Daily reporter, Stefan Bondy, had written that Kyrie was against the NBA action in July end and suggested a parallel plan of a separate league. He even went on to clarify that it wasn’t related to the bubble situation but for an ulterior reason.
“To be clear on this, Kyrie Irving has proposed to his teammates they should start their own league, and it’s not necessarily in response to the bubble situation,” Bondy reported.
In a recent chat group with Nets players, Kyrie Irving lobbied for skipping the bubble, the Daily News has learned. In that chat, he also proposed that the players can start their own league, according to a source. https://t.co/SqC0wcccPJ

After all the havoc created by the news created, Bleacher Report journalist Taylor Rooks stated this information as false. She tweeted that after receiving the news about the season’s comeback, Kyrie left the group chat.
Sources tell me that Kyrie Irving never stated that the Nets should begin their own league in response to the bubble.
I’m told that after that report came out, he left the group chat.

Brooklyn Nets teammates take a strong stance against the false news of Kyrie Irving being circulated
To support this, Brooklyn Nets’ two other players confirmed Bondy’s news as fake. They stood by Irving for the false allegations against him. Nets young shooting guard, Theo Pinson wrote in response to Stefan’s tweet saying, “This is FAKE news! Just Stop!”

Another player, Chris Chiozza, also took a stance for his fellow teammate on Twitter. He gave a blunt response. “Y’all just making up shit about my guy now… cut the cap y’all really getting annoying.”

Moreover, Kyrie Irving had openly criticized the reopening of the NBA a few days ago. He doesn’t agree with the decision of playing games after systematic racism and police brutality engulfed the country. Kyrie clearly shunned the idea of the league returning in Disney World.
Also, George Floyd’s recent death has impacted many players. Several of them support Kyrie’s stance on the upcoming season.
