The Sims 4's console versions will see improvements when playing on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X and S.
With the next generation of consoles launching next week, EA posted an article running through what the new hardware means for playing its games via backwards compatibility.
As far as The Sims 4 is concerned, players should notice better performance if they make the jump from PS4 to PS5 or Xbox One to Xbox Series X|S.

"Since its release in 2014, The Sims 4 continues to add fresh new content into the game, and the base game and all of its packs including Tiny Living, Eco Lifestyle, Nifty Knitting and Star Wars™: Journey to Batuu released this year will be available on the Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5 with faster loading times and smoother frame rates," EA said.
The publisher points out that Snowy Escape, the next expansion, also comes out next week on Friday, November 13 for consoles as well as PC and Mac.
Snowy Escape introduces the Japanese-inspired world of Mt. Komorebi plus a variety of activities including skiing, snowboarding, rock climbing, and hiking. On top of that, two new features – 'Lifestyles' and 'Sentiments' – look set to provide new layers to Sims' personalities and relationships.

The PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions of The Sims 4 have moved closer to parity with the PC and Mac versions over the past year. Packs are now released on the same date across all platforms, while the popular gallery feature was added to consoles back in January.
The Sims 4 is available on PC, Mac, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4.
