The COVID-19 issues that have pockmarked the NFL season have popped up just before Super Bowl 2021.
The Kansas City Chiefs placed wide receiver Demarcus Robinson and center Daniel Kilgore on the COVID-19/reserve list on Monday, Chiefs coach Andy Reid said. Both players reportedly were placed on the list for being close contacts to someone who tested positive for COVID-19.
“They’ll work through it,” Reid said.
Both players can play in Super Bowl 2021 on Sunday if they continue to test negative for COVID-19 throughout the rest of the week, according to NFL Network.
Robinson, 26, had 45 catches for 466 yards and three touchdowns during the regular season. He has just one catch for 14 yards in two playoff games this year.
Kilgore, 33, is a backup but made four starts during the 2020 season.
