BLACKSBURG, Va. -- Inside Carolina is at Lane Stadium for North Carolina's season opener at Virginia Tech. UNC is starting its 2021 campaign as a top 10 team for the first time in 24 years. UNC is looking for its first win in Lane Stadium since 2015. The previous two matchups between the teams in Blacksburg included a six-overtime, 43-41, loss in 2019 and a 59-7 defeat in 2017. UNC is 2-0 in season openers since Mack Brown returned to the program.
The game kicks off at 6:00 p.m. ET on ESPN. Jason Benetti, Andre Ware and Paul Carcaterra are on the call.
First Quarter
- Tech starts with the ball. Hokies pick up a few first downs. Tayvion Robinson rushes for 15 yards on 3rd and 5. Play is under review. Ritzie and Jeremiah Gemmel with a stop at the line of scrimmage to force 3rd & 5 at the UNC 44. Burmeister scrambles for 6 yards and a first down. Jalen Holston picks up a first down on 3rd & short. Holston runs for 3 yards for another Tech first down. Trey Morrison forces a fumble on 2nd & 3, Ja'Qurious Conley recovers.

Second Quarter
