UFC Fight Night 203 takes place at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas. The card streams on ESPN+.

In the main event, Thiago Santos (22-9 MMA, 14-8 UFC) takes on Magomed Ankalaev (16-1 MMA, 7-1 UFC) at light heavyweight. In the co-feature, Marlon Moraes (23-9-1 MMA, 5-5 UFC) meets Song Yadong (18-5-1 MMA, 7-1-1 UFC) at bantamweight.

Azamat Murzakanov vs. Tafon Nchukwi

Round 1 – Nchukwi opens up with a hard kick to the body. Murzakanov lands a big left hand a few moments later. Murzakanov goes back to the overhand left again as Nchukwi looks for another kick. They continue to exchange single strikes as they move all around the cage. Murzakanov charges forward with a nice two-punch combination. Nchukwi throws a kick that is caught, but shucks off the clinch and takedown attempt. A front kick to the body finds the mark for Nchukwi and a roundhouse soon followed. Murzakanov gets a clinch and presses Nchukwi against the fence and they wrestle for position until the round comes to a close. MMA Junkie scores the round 10-9 for Nchukwi.

Round 2 – Nchukwi continues his kicking approach early in the second and Murzakanov looks for the left hand. As Nchukwi goes for a leg kick, Murzakanov catches it and lands a big overhand left to take Nchukwi off his feet. He quickly gets back to his feet, though, and gets right back to controlling the center of the cage. Nchukwi grabs a Thai plum and lands a series of knees to the body. They continue to exchange punches and Murzakanov goes in for a clinch, where he lands a knee to the body before separating. The striking exchanges continue, with both men finding home for hard punches. Nchukwi lands to the body with a hard kick. Murzakanov just misses with a short uppercut before the round ends. MMA Junkie scores the round 10-9 for Nchukwi.

Round 3 – The final round begins with Murzakanov looking to land big punches, but Nchukwi stands his ground and fires back a kick. Suddenly, out of nowhere, Murzakanov lands a huge flying knee and flattens Nchukwi. No follow-up punches are needed as Herb Dean waves off the action. What a finish.

Guido Cannetti vs. Kris Moutinho

Round 1 – They touch gloves and get to trading kicks and punches quickly. Cannetti fires off a front kick followed by a leg kick as Moutinho presses forward. Moutinho charges forward with punches as Cannetti circles away. Moutinho keeps the pressure high, though, and lands a few punches. Cannetti answers with a big left hand a few moments later and continues to pour on the pressure. Cannetti lands a couple of knees to the body in the clinch and then starts to open up with a flurry of unanswered punches and Moutinho is rocked. Referee Chris Tognoni didn’t want to see anymore and Cannetti picks up the standing TKO victory. Wow.

Cody Brundage vs. Dalcha Lungiambula

Round 1 – Brundage looks for a leg kick to get things started, but Lungiambula steps out of the way. Brundage fires off a couple of quick punches and a kick after. Lungiambula presses forward and Brundage shoots in for a takedown. Lungiambula looks for a guillotine choke to counter and then opts to land short punches. They scramble for position on the mat, but Lungiambula stays on top, landing heavy punches. Brundage buries his head deep in the hips of Lungiambula to protect himself. They get back to the feet and Lungiambula unleashes strikes as Brundage covers up on the fence. Lungiambula keeps firing and Brundage is hurt. Mark Smith steps in closer as Lungiambula lands knees and more punches. Lungiambula goes in for a takedown and gets caught in a guillotine choke. He taps. What a comeback for Brundage to get that finish out of nowhere.

Miranda Maverick vs. Sabina Mazo

Round 1 – Maverick gets the action started with an outside leg kick and Mazo answers back with a left jab. Circling on the outside, Maverick darts in and out with quick punches as Mazo calmly controls the center, offering jabs in return. Maverick shoots in and completes a takedown, landing in guard in the center of the cage. Mazo punches off her back as Maverick tries to improve her position. Mazo quickly slaps on an armbar attempt but Maverick stays calm and gets out. They get back to the feet but Maverick goes right back in for a clinch and tosses Mazo to the mat. This time, she works from side control but Mazo was able to get back up quickly. However, Maverick sticks with her and drags her back down, ending up in half guard. Mazo regains guard and Maverick looks to land punches from the top. Mazo punches from her back as well before the round ends. MMA Junkie scores the round 10-9 for Maverick.

Round 2 – Maverick gets the action started with a head kick that is blocked by Mazo. A sharp left tags Mazo a moment later, and then Maverick shoots for a takedown but is brushed off. Maverick lands another left hand. Mazo keeps control of the center as they trade strikes. Maverick fires off a quick series of punches and then shoots for a takedown. She completes it, and ends up on the back of Mazo and immediately slaps on a rear-naked choke. Mazo is forced to tap. A strong showing from Maverick in this one.

Damon Jackson vs. Kamuela Kirk

Round 1 – Jackson immediately charges forward with punches as Kirk covers up and evades. The punches continue from Jackson as Kirk begins to fire back with punches upstairs and to the body. Jackson throws a pair of punches but its met with a hard knee from Kirk. A moment later, Kirk misses with a wheel kick as he seems to get more comfortable in there. Jackson circles on the outside and darts forward with a combination of punches. A nice uppercut lands in the moment that appears to hurt Kirk. He recovers and fires back though, but Jackson keeps the pressure high and lands clean again. Jackson gets a takedown and lands punches from the top until the round ends. MMA Junkie scores the round 10-9 for Jackson.

Round 2 – Jackson picks up right where he left off, darting across with punches and shooting for a takedown that is completed. Just a few seconds into the round and Jackson is working from top position in half guard. Jackson keeps heavy shoulder pressure as he tries to improve position and lands a few punches in the process. Kirk does his best to stop Jackson’s progression and punches from his back. In trying to isolate an arm, Kirk gives up an head and arm choke position, but Jackson is unable to force a tap. Kirk then goes for an armbar but Jackson shakes him off and scrambles back to another arm-triangle choke. This time, he’s off to the side and it’s deep. Kirk has no choice but to tap or go to sleep. He opts to tap. What a win for Jackson.

Javid Basharat vs. Trevin Jones

Round 1 – Jones starts things off with a quick leg kick but Basharat counters with a punch. Basharat controls the center and fires off a leg kick before dodging a big left from Jones. Basharat paws out the left hand to find the rang and lands another kick. A spinning back kick to the body lands for Basharat. Jones then charges forward with a nice combination of punches. Another left from Jones lands. Basharat answers with a hard kick to the body, but Jones is able to partially block it. A sharp right hand from Basharat splits Jones’ guard. Jones charges forward with a punch that is met with a hard knee from Basharat. Jones appears hurt as Basharat pours on the offense along the fence. Jones recovers and gets back to firing punches, landing a nice left in the closing seconds. Basharat finds home for another spinning kick right before the horn. MMA Junkie scores the first 10-9 for Basharat.

Round 2 – The exchanges continue quickly to start the second round. Jones lets his hands go and finds home for a clean left as he is really pressuring early on. Basharat lands a leg kick and a front kick to the body a moment later. They look to read each other’s next move for a moment. Jones lands a nice left hand and then looks for a takedown soon after. Basharat is able to shake him off and they return to the center of the cage. Now Jones controls the center and lands a nice punch to the body. Basharat fires back with punches as they start to trade. A spinning back kick from Basharat hits to the body. A hard head kick is blocked by Jones. Basharat jumps with a knee but doesn’t get all of it. MMA Junkie scores the round 10-9 for Basharat.

Round 3 – They meet in the center to start the final round and get right back to exchanging strikes. Jones lands a nice right jab and Basharat counters. Jones goes to the body and then lands a nice right upstairs. Basharat turns up the pressure and charges ahead with punches and kicks. Mixing it up to the body and head, Basharat also lands a leg kick. Jones begins to answer back, but circles away from Basharat. A knee to an elbow combination lands for Basharat. Moments later, a wheel kick from Basharat lands. Jones eats it and begins unleashing a series of punches and catches Basharat with a few. Jones looks for the home run left hand and misses and the fight concludes a few moments later. MMA Junkie scores the final round 10-9 for Basharat, giving him the fight 30-27.

JJ Aldrich vs. Gillian Robertson

Round 1 – They begin by feeling out the range, with Robertson offering a couple of kicks as Aldrich looks to jab. Robertson begins pawing out the left jab as well and mixes in a few kicks, including a front kick to the body. Robertson shoots for a takedown, but starts from too far away and Aldrich easily evades. A nice exchange of punches follow but an accidental poke from Robertson pauses the action. Referee Chris Tognoni issues warnings to both before the fight resumes. Aldrich lands a nice left followed by a right hook, and another left jab a second later. Robertson closes in and as Aldrich circles, she trips. Robertson tries for a head kick but doesn’t get all of it. Aldrich gets back to her right jab as Robertson presses with punches of her own. Aldrich catches a kick and gets a takedown right before the horn. MMA Junkie scores the round 10-9 for Aldrich.

Round 2 – Robertson takes the center to start the round as they get back to trading punches. Robertson looks to clinch but is brushed off. Aldrich is sharp with her right hand jab and catches Robertson with it a few times. Robertson tries for a front kick followed by a punch, but Aldrich answers with a nice right hook. Robertson sees the chance for a takedown and grabs a single leg. She scrambles for the takedown and ends up on the back of Aldrich, who reverses the position a moment later and ends up in guard. They return to the feet and the punches from Aldrich continue with the right jab. A takedown attempt from Robertson is stuffed. Aldrich lands a couple of punches and a nice kick to the body before the round comes to a close. MMA Junkie scores the round 10-9 for Aldrich.

Round 3 – Robertson comes out pressing forward, but Aldrich threatens with the right hand. They exchange punches, with the jab of Aldrich getting the better of it. Robertson looks to clinch but is reversed and pressed against the cage by Aldrich. Robertson sneaks in a short right elbow as they jockey for position against the fence. They eventually separate and return to the center of the cage where Aldrich fires off a few punches. Robertson’s body kick doesn’t quite get through. Aldrich responds with a two-punch combination. Robertson looks for another takedown and is stuffed, but ends up pulling guard. Aldrich stays heavy on top and lands a nice elbow before the round and the fight ends. MMA Junkie scores the final round 10-9 for Aldrich, giving her the fight 30-27.

A.J. Fletcher vs. Matthew Semelsberger

Round 1 – From the moment the Herb Dean said fight, they immediately began trading strikes in a fast-paced start. Fletcher gets a big takedown and begins working to improve his position. He is able to take full mount and then a guillotine attempt followed as Semelsberger attempted to power out of the bad spot. The submission didn’t stick, but Fletcher ended up back on top of Semelsberger. Short elbows land from the top as Fletcher began to isolate an arm. Semelsberger was wise to it and worked his way back to full guard. A moment later Fletcher threatened an arm triangle and took half guard in the process. Back in full mount a moment later, Fletcher went for the arm triangle again, and then switched to ground and pound before the round ended. MMA Junkie scores the round 10-9 for Fletcher.

Round 2 – They touch gloves to start the round and Fletcher gets a little wild with a spinning back fist attempt. An exchange of leg kicks follows. After trading a few punches in the center, an accidental eyepoke from Semelsberger pauses the action briefly. After resuming, Fletcher lands a nice calf kick and then gets a takedown. Fletcher almost took the back, but Semelsberger was able to get free. Back in the center, they exchange heavy strikes, with a big punch from Fletcher getting through. Another takedown from Fletcher followed, where he ended up on the back of Semelsberger briefly before being reversed. On top in guard, Semelsberger landed a few punches and hard right elbows. Fletcher threated an armbar, but was quickly shaken off. Semelsberger continued to rain down hard punches from the top before the horn sounded. MMA Junkie scores the second round 10-9 Semelsberger.

Round 3 – Fletcher lands a left hand to start the final round and Semelsberger responds with punches of his own, followed by a front kick. After brushing off a clinch attempt, Semelsberger lands a night right. Fletcher goes for a takedown and gets it. Semelsberger is able to get back up before Fletcher can improve his position. Fletcher lands a left hand but this time Semelsberger dips under and gets a big takedown, landing in half guard. A couple of punches are traded on the mat as Fletcher attempted to get off his back, but Semelsberger remained heavy on top and then began mixing in some ground and pound. Fletcher is able to scramble and reverse position on top of Semelsberger for a moment before returning to the feet. An intense exchange of strikes then follow with both men landing hard punches until the fight ended. MMA Junkie scores the final round 10-9 for Semelsberger, giving him the fight 29-28.

Alex Pereira vs. Bruno Silva

Round 1 – After a touch of gloves, Pereira gets it started with a left high kick, followed by another from the opposite leg. More kicks from Pereira are offered as Silva defends. Silva then charges forward with a few punches, but Pereira is able to escape without being touched. A nice knee from Pereira lands. Silva lands a hard two-punch combination, but Pereira doesn’t seem bothered. A hard exchange follows with kick from Pereira and a punch from Silva. They clinch and both land knees to the body before separating. Silva just misses with a head kick as Pereira punches to the body. Silva gets a takedown a few moments later, but Pereira is quick to get back to one knee against the fence before powering all the way up. They trade punches and Pereira gets a couple of hard punches through to get Silva to cover up for a second. MMA Junkie scores the round 10-9 Pereira.

Round 2 – They waste little time getting back to striking exchanges at the start of the second. Pereira’s left hand is quick to the target, but Silva is game to trade with hooks that get around the guard. A hard right hand from Pereira gets through and Silva responds with leg kicks. Pereira lands a left hand and Silva responds with another kick and a punch to the body. Another successful takedown followed, but once again, Pereira was quick to get back up to his feet. They stay clinched against the fence and Pereira lands a couple of short strikes while Silva presses him against the cage. Silva tries for a spinning elbow but is too close. Still clinched, Pereira lands knees to the body and a couple of short punches before the break free. The punches from both continue. Pereira misses with a left hook and Silva counters nicely. Silva then lands another nice combination and mixes in a kick. Silva charges forward once more with a few punches before tripping and ending the round on his back. MMA Junkie scores the round 10-9 for Silva.

Round 3 – The final round begins with Silva charging with a combination ending with a takedown attempt. Pereira sprawls nicely and they get back to exchanging strikes. Silva then clinches and presses Pereira against the cage. Pereira reverses position and punches to the body and head from close range. He lands a couple of knees here as well. They break apart and Pereira starts picking Silva off with crisp punches. A left hook rocks Silva and Pereira swarms, but Silva is able to clinch to slow the action. Pereira breaks free and continues the barrage. Somehow Silva survives and returns fire before trying to drag Pereira to the mat. Pereira remains upright. They separate again and Pereira starts teeing off again. Silva lands a couple of nice strikes as well, but Pereira clearly gets the best of these final exchanges. MMA Junkie scores the round 10-9 Pereira, giving him the fight 29-28.

Round 1 – After a touch of gloves, McKinney charges forward with a hard knee that drops Dober and the swarm is on. Perhaps sensing the finish, McKinney pours on the strikes as Dober attempts to survive the moment. Dober is able to get back to his feet but another knee puts Dober down again and McKinney is back to swarming with punches. Somehow, Dober gets back to his feet again and the pressure from McKinney continues. This time he gets a takedown and ends up in guard. McKinney lands punches from the top before Dober gets both feet on the hips and pushes him off. McKinney appears to be gassed now and Dober pressures with hard punches. McKinney goes down from strikes and follows up with ground and pound. The referee stops the action as McKinney covers up. What a wild fight and impressive resilience from Dober.

Round 1 – The light heavyweights begin sizing each other up to start and Roberson finds the mark with a couple of kicks early. Rountree lands a couple of nice punches but Roberson responds with a flying knee. The action stalls for a few moments after a quick start. Roberson chops with an outside leg kick and Rountree lands one of his own in return. Another leg kick from Roberson lands to the lead leg and Roundtree answers with an overhand left. Roberson kicks to the body but its caught by Rountree who sweeps out the other leg. Rountree doesn’t close in and Roberson pops up from the canvas. Rountree continues to control the center of the cage with Roberson circling to his left on the outside. Rountree lands a quick jab. Another body kick is caught by Rountree who then fires off a couple of hard punches. Rountree charges forward with another combination before the round ends.
