The NFL Network began unveiling its top 100 list on Sunday night and all five Eagles to make the list have already been revealed.
That means the Eagles have no players in the top 70 in the league.
Here were the names revealed last night:
98. Brandon Brooks (Last year: Not ranked)
94. Jason Kelce (Last year: No. 72)
92. Darius Slay (Last year: No. 86)
85. Zach Ertz (Last year: No. 40)
73. Fletcher Cox (Last year: No. 28)
The NFL previously announced that the Eagles had five players on this year’s list, which means Carson Wentz and Lane Johnson are both snubs. (Yes, Slay counts toward that Eagles total.)
Two years ago, Wentz was No. 3 on the list. He dropped all the way to No. 96 last year and this year has dropped completely off of it. Johnson came in at No. 95 in 2018, his only appearance on the annual list.
Two quarterbacks have been listed so far. Kyler Murray came in at No. 90 after his rookie season and Josh Allen came in at No. 87. … Wentz is pretty clearly better than both of them, at least right now.
This is where we point out putting this list together is a pretty inexact science and that’s putting it politely. While it is voted on by NFL players, they’re not exactly taking is super seriously.
The NFL 100 list is silly. It’s just something for offseason programming. When I was playing and got asked to do, I’d put Mitch’s name first. Then my teammates. And then my favorite lineman. Not sure how many guys take it seriously. https://t.co/iXORddMIgF

That pretty much backs up what I’ve seen in locker rooms too. A lot of players get the blank ballot and start looking around the room, picking their friends or voting for their college teammates. Heck, I’ve stood with players and helped them fill them out before. Still, saying Carson Wentz isn’t one of the top 100 players in the NFL or that there are 72 players better than Fletcher Cox just doesn’t add up.
As for the guys who made the list this year:
• It’s nice recognition for Brooks, who had his best season in 2019. He was arguably the best guard in the NFL and sometimes recognition for interior OL takes a while. He’ll obviously drop off this list next year after tearing his Achilles this offseason.
• Kelce just made his third consecutive All-Pro team and was also a Pro Bowler in 2019. I thought he was better last year than he was in 2018 but he somehow dropped 22 spots.
• Many thought Slay had a down year in 2019 — he is certainly not one of them — but he didn’t slip too far. It’s amazing to think the Eagles have a cornerback who is one of the top 100 players in the NFL. It’s been a while.
• It was pretty obvious Ertz was going to slip. He made it to No. 40 after his 116-catch season, but dropping 45 spots seems kind of extreme. He had good numbers in 2019, catching 88 passes for 916 yards and 6 touchdowns.
• Cox had just 3 1/2 sacks in 2019 after a 10 1/2 season in 2018 so the big drop isn’t all that surprising. But he made his fifth straight Pro Bowl in 2019 and I simply don’t believe there are 72 players in the league who are better than him.
