Jamal Adams issued a complaint about his new team a day after the Jets traded the disgruntled safety.
“I love you guys already @Seahawks but damn y’all didn’t have to put the kid on a 7am flight… Damn lol,” Adams tweeted Sunday night, before quickly deleting the social media post.
The Pro Bowl safety is expected to take his physical Monday in Seattle.
While with the Jets, the 24-year-old frequently used social media to express his frustrations with the franchise, which included not landing the big contract extension he felt he deserved.
Adams is on a team-friendly rookie contract with $13.45 million remaining until 2021, and thus didn’t have much leverage in negotiations with the Jets.
Relations between the two sides soured over the past calendar year and on Saturday the Jets traded their best player and a future fourth-round pick to the Seahawks for two first-round picks (2021, ’22), a third-round pick in 2021 and safety Bradley McDougald, who likely will replace Adams as a starter.
Adams has seemed pleased about the trade on Twitter, regardless of the early flight.
