Quarterback Andy Dalton and cornerback Dre Kirkpatrick played eight seasons together on the Cincinnati Bengals. After being cast aside by Cincinnati in the offseason, the former teammates squared off on Monday night, with Kirkpatrick intercepting a Dalton pass.

That was one of the four turnovers by the Dallas Cowboys in their 38-10 loss to the Arizona Cardinals.

Earlier on Monday, the Kansas City Chiefs defeated the Buffalo Bills 26-17 in a game that was supposed to be played on Thursday night. But because Tennessee’s coronavirus problems pushed the Bills' game against the Titans back two days to Tuesday, the NFL moved the Week 6 Thursday game to Monday.

Kirkpatrick’s first interception for Arizona was the 11th of the former Gadsden City High School star’s NFL career and helped spoil Dalton’s first start for the Cowboys.

Cowboys QB Dak Prescott suffered a broken ankle in last week’s game, putting Dalton into the Dallas lineup. Dalton completed 34-of-54 passes for 266 yards with one touchdown and two interceptions against the Cardinals.

Arizona running back Kenyan Drake, like Kirkpatrick an Alabama alumnus, almost reached his career rushing high on Monday night. Drake ran for 164 yards and two touchdowns on 20 carries against the Cowboys. He had 166 rushing yards against the Seattle Seahawks on Dec. 22.

The Cardinals took a 14-0 lead with 10:31 left in the second quarter on Drake’s 1-yard touchdown run. Drake put his sixth 100-yard rushing game in the books on his final carry – a 69-yard touchdown run with 1:49 remaining in the game. Entering the contest, Drake’s longest run of the 2020 season had been 16 yards.

The Cardinals also got a touchdown run and two TD passes by quarterback Kyler Murray. Even though he completed only 9-of-24 passes, Murray had 188 passing yards, with his second touchdown pass to wide receiver Christian Kirk covering 80 yards.

Five other players from Alabama high schools and colleges were at the Arizona-Dallas game:

· Angelo Blackson (Auburn) started at defensive end for the Cardinals. Blackson made two tackles.

· Amari Cooper (Alabama) started at wide receiver for the Cowboys. Cooper caught seven passes for 79 yards and one touchdown. Cooper caught a 1-yard toss from Dalton with 2:48 left in the game for Dallas' only touchdown.

· Trevon Diggs (Alabama) started at cornerback for the Cowboys. Diggs made three tackles and broke up one pass. Diggs spent much of the game shadowing Arizona wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins, who had an NFL-high 45 receptions in the first five weeks of the season. Hopkins caught only two passes on Monday night, but one of them was a 60-yarder.

· Cowboys cornerback Saivion Smith (Alabama) was designated as a game-day inactive.

· Deionte Thompson (Alabama) started at safety for the Cardinals. Thompson made four tackles.

Arizona improved to 4-2, and while Dallas dropped to 2-4, the Cowboys retained first place in the NFC East. On Sunday, the Cardinals host the undefeated Seattle Seahawks in an NFC West game and Dallas visits the Washington Football Team in the NFC East.

In Buffalo, the Chiefs held Bills quarterback Josh Allen to 122 passing yards after he’d thrown for 1,589 yards in the first five games of the season. Kansas City’s offense got 161 rushing yards from rookie running back Clyde Edwards-Helaire and two touchdown passes from quarterback Patrick Mahomes to tight end Travis Kelce.

Five players from Alabama high schools and colleges were at the Kansas City-Buffalo game:

· Mario Addison (Tarrant, Troy) started at right defensive end for the Bills. Addison made four tackles, including a sack, and registered two quarterback hits in his first start of the season. Addison has three sacks in 2020.

· Tyreek Hill (West Alabama) started at wide receiver for the Chiefs. Hill caught three passes for 20 yards and had a 5-yard run as his scoring streak ended. Hill caught a touchdown pass in each of Kansas City’s first four games, then ran for a touchdown in last week’s contest.

· Bills linebacker Deon Lacey (Hueytown, West Alabama) played but did not record any stats.

· Bills safety Siran Neal (Eufaula, Jacksonville State) made one tackle on defense and one tackle on special teams.

· Bills running back T.J. Yeldon (Daphne, Alabama) was designated as a game-day inactive.

Kansas City improved to 5-1, and Buffalo dropped to 4-2. On Sunday, the Chiefs visit the Denver Broncos and the Bills visit the New York Jets.
